Formal Education’s Performance Indicators

The proportion of the school age-elementary school population who were enrolled remained steady during the school years 2006-2007 and 2010-2011 at 98.6 percent. Survival rate, which is the proportion of enrollees at the beginning grade and the year who reach the final grade or year at the end of the required number of years of study, increase at the rate of 99 percent. The consistent zero dropout rates and the average completion rate of 100 percent at the elementary level during the last two school years period indicates the good performance of the education sector. There are, however increasing inadequacies in terms of the number of teachers and classrooms. These may have been brought about by, among others, the fast increasing number of students due to rapid population growth. The student teacher ratio in elementary schools is with an average of 1:30 pupils per room in rural barangays while 1:41 pupils per room in central school at the poblacion, it is projected that every five (5) years, an additional rooms and teacher for each school will be needed to cope with the standards and ensure an excellent service. Higher ratio in central school is indicated because many pupils in rural barangays still get their education in the said school, may be of having more challenges in studies due to the number of activities and advanced curriculum in a large populated school.

Enrolment figures revealed the magnitude of the patronage of majority of Amadeo's population on the education facilities provided by the government. A large percentage, 76% or 3836 of elementary aged children was enrolled in public schools while the remaining 24% (1178) was in the private education. Enrolment in public for all levels increased, financial status and house-school distance were the cause of accumulation in public institutions, although the quality of education for both schools were sufficient for school- aged children.

In Secondary school, 85% of students were enrolled in public schools, thus the decrease in private school population was proportionate to the increase in public schools, it means transfer of school for lower cost and not stopping in their studies happened.

Students of Day Care Center

As of 2010, the enrolment rate of school-aged population for the secondary level increased. This was due to the fact that out of 100 students, 19 students were from the neighboring barangays like Balagbag of Indang, Kaybagal of Tagaytay and Panungyanan of Gen. Trias. A huge factor for this was because the distance of the secondary schools from the neighboring houses was nearer to Amadeo than their own respective localities.

For tertiary level, 93 students in every 100 school-aged population that finish their secondary/ intermediate education did not continue into college because of the availability of industrial jobs in Gen. Trias, Dasmariñas and Rosario, Cavite. Majority of the population chose to grab the opportunity to work after high school. The qualifications of factory workers that you can be after high school trigger to grab the work openings to earn for their education and sustain some family needs.

DROP OUT RATE is the proportion of students who leave school during the year as well as those who completed the year level but fail to enroll in the next year level the following year to the total number of students enrolled in the previous year. Zero percent 0% drop out rate is necessity for educators, the culture of Amadeo regarding education is still on the heart and dream of everyone to change lifestyle not in farming, a good and progressive future of the next generation, it is still a program of the municipality but encouraging the agricultural related courses.
